Gas Fire Buyers Guide
It's important to get the right gas fire for
your home. Our Buyers Guide will take you through
some factors to consider when making your selection
including type of fuel, controls, fire back panel,
radiant or convector, chimney or flue and sizing
your fire.
Fuel
Either Natural Gas or LPG. Natural Gas is the
most common, alternatively for those who don't
have a natural gas supply you can power your gas
fire using LPG.
Controls
Three basic control systems are available. Manual
control allows you to turn your fire on and off
using a dial often hidden behind the gas fire
ash pan. Slide control gas fires have a control
on the side of the fire so you don't have to bend
down. Remote control fires can be controlled from
the comfort of your armchair via an infra-red
remote control.
Fire Back Panel
Some Gas fires allow you to select different
fire back panels than the standard plain black
one. Some Kinder fires allow you to have a brick
back panel to suit your room and the Kinder Camber
and Firebokse are available with a ribbed back
panel.
